What is Integrative Counselling?

If you’ve never had counselling before, you might be wondering what integrative counselling is, how it differs from other therapies, and whether it’s the right choice for you.

There are various types of counselling modalities, including but not limited to: Humanistic approaches like Person-Centred Therapy, Behavioural approaches such as CBT, Psychodynamic approaches, and more. The way your counsellor works will depend on their training and qualifications.

So, to answer the question: working as an integrative counsellor means that I can incorporate elements from different theories (such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, CBT, Transpersonal) to suit your needs in the moment. I’m not limited to just one approach, which allows the therapy to be personalized to your unique circumstances and needs.

I also follow a holistic integration model that considers the Mind, Body, Soul, and Emotions, helping guide you toward healing and growth. Due to various life experiences and traumas, different parts of the self can become disconnected, leading to issues such as anxiety, low mood, or a lack of purpose in life.

Together, we’ll work on giving voice to different parts of yourself to regain balance, so that you can experience a greater sense of well-being.

It’s important to choose a counsellor who is right for you, including the way they work and the modality they practice. This will help you achieve the outcomes you desire from counselling.

I offer a 20-minute introductory call to help you decide if I’m the right counsellor for you. If you’re ready to take the next step, send me a message to connect.
